Groupon and a glimpse into the future

After the night of drinking we had, Danielle and I were definitely not going to drink. Definitely not. Definitely...not.

Well. Groupon changed that.

After saying goodbye to Etienne, Danielle picked me up and I took a nap until the afternoon greeted me.

Not feeling like playing tourist, Dani and I opted for more pool time. Even after a little sunshine, we didn't feel up for something too "over the top," but then Groupon. Prior to the trip, we bought all kinds of passes to do things through the online marketplace and since we already spent the money...we had to go.

That evening, we headed out to the world's tallest observation wheel — The High Roller. As we climbed aboard, the bartender informed us the ride would be an "open bar" affair. To this notion, Danielle and I both replied, "Challenge, accepted."

The sights were stupendous. And, much as we had throughout the trip, we talked to strangers. With every stop on the cycle, the bartender motioned for us to take another beverage. Well, I mean, if you insist...

Over the course of a half hour, we went from sleepy and unmotivated to Matthew McConaughey — Alright, alright, alright.

Frolicking off the ride, Dani and I started to recap some of the moments from our trip, giggling along the way. On our trek back to the hotel, I saw a fountain and decided to take a few pictures. Sitting along the edge and leaning in for a selfie, a woman came over to Danielle and insisted on talking to her.

"I don't mean to bother you, but I have to tell you something," she said. As it turns out, the woman was a fortune teller or psychic of sorts. Skeptical, Danielle looked to me to help her out, but having been to one in the past that really impressed me with what she said, I told Dani to go for it.

Right off the bat, the woman started saying things that were just too detailed to be coincidental "generalities." Leaning over to offer an encouraging smile, the woman stopped and pointed to me.

"Oh, don't you worry. I have some things to talk to you about...like your twin girls," she said.

WHHHAAAAAAA?

During the course of their conversation, the psychic provided detailed information about jewelry that once belonged to Danielle's great-grandmother. What made it even more strange was the fact that we had talked about her earlier in the day. She also talked about Danielle having another child...it was all pretty cool to hear.

As for me, this was now the THIRD person to indicate that I would have twin babies. The timing, of course, made me think back to that recent sentiment of "don't keep the baby." Oh God.

But when I asked her about it, the psychic looked at me as if she knew me personally, and said, "You've been through a lot. Have some patience. Good things will come."

I may still not be settled down, but she was right.

Good things are here and they're still coming. Patience.
